hypnagogia
This is the old stuff, from before punk2. hypnagogia is his first EP on streaming (fifthenigma, from 2016, only ever lived on SoundCloud): seven songs, all written and produced by him, lo-fi beats with emo vocals floating over the top.
It’s way softer than anything he’s done since, and honestly it holds up. If you only know the albums, start with warm.

Fan notes
- Hypnagogia is that half-asleep state right before you drift off. Fitting for an EP that opens with wake and ends with warm.
- Count the titles: firstego, secondport, thirdquarter. The fourthstrike single followed that June, and fifthenigma was already out on SoundCloud from 2016. He was numbering things long before the capital letters.
- All seven songs are written and produced by brakence alone, no features.
- The songs went up on his SoundCloud too, back when that was home base.
